WORKS

ARTIST STATEMENT

This body of work uses literature as a starting point for visual exploration. Rather than illustrating specific texts, I draw from literary titles, narratives, and selected phrases as reference points that guide each composition. These textual elements function as an exegetical framework, shaping how meaning is translated from written language into visual form.

The works are constructed through distorted forms, a limited colour palette, and the deliberate combination of unrelated characters and elements. This approach allows the images to remain open and fragmented, resisting fixed interpretation. By bringing together elements that do not logically belong, the compositions reflect the instability, ambiguity, and layered meanings often present in literature.

Through this process, the work becomes a visual reading rather than a direct representation — an attempt to explore how stories can be felt, disrupted, and reimagined through painting.
